Frequently asked questions

  • What if I have special dietary requirements?
Classes will be advertised as being vegetarian, vegan, GF, and any known allergens will be highlighted. Should you have any special dietary requirements, please speak to us before booking to discuss. We can make adjustments for some classes, but this may not be possible for all.
  • Do I need to have any previous cookery experience to join a class?
This depends on the class. The majority of our classes are aimed at those who have little to no cooking or kitchen experience. We will occasionally offer classes that are aimed at people with an intermediate level of skill. This will be detailed in our class description.
  • Will I have my own workstation?
Yes. We have 8 hobs and ovens, and plenty of food preparation spaces for all participants.
  • What age ranges can join the classes?
The age limit will be specified for our community classes and depends on the theme. For child and parent classes, the minimum age is generally 8 years old. Some will be 16+ and mixed age groups. For commercial classes, guests should be no younger than 12 years old and anyone 18 or under should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Some classes may not be suitable for under 18s, but we will make clear the suitability for each one.
  • Will you provide me with the recipes?
We will provide by email recipes for all the meals, baked goods, desserts etc. that you will make at our classes.
  • I need to cancel or change my booking
You can change or cancel your booking if you give us notice of no less than 48 hours from the class start time. We can arrange for you to join the next available class, or for cancellations offer a voucher of equivalent value to your class.
  • Can I take home my food after the class?
Yes, we encourage this to minimise waste. Generally at the end of each class there is time for you to enjoy your creation with the group, but if you wish to leave you can take your food away. We ask that you bring your own food containers, as these are not provided. Any leftovers that you do not wish to take away will be kept for staff lunches, so that food waste is kept to an absolute minimum.
  • What do I need to bring with me?
Aprons, utensils, ingredients are provided for you. For many classes, we may ask you to bring along food storage containers so that you can take home your creations or leftovers. This will be advertised on our class description where appropriate.
  • How early should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes before class to give you time to get settled, grab a refreshment, wash your hands, and get set up at your cookery station.
  • Is there parking?
We have ample parking right outside the kitchen for guests to use.
  • Can I book a class alone?
Absolutely. Many people come to classes alone. We offer a welcoming, fun, and friendly environment for you to learn. Communal cooking and eating is an excellent way to meet and make new friends.
  • What should I wear?
We ask that your clothes are clean and suitable for use in the kitchen, e.g. no filthy overalls or workwear, also that you do not wear open toed shoes or flip flops. You may wish to wear comfortable clothing and footwear as you will be on your feet often.
